Hamline Students up
to the Competition
Once again, Hamline Law students made a significant impact
at prestigious competitions in 2010-11, both in this country and abroad. In all, more than 40 Hamline Law
students participated in a variety of events, which included:
- Chelsea Griffin and John
Tribett reaching the semifinals in the International Commercial Mediation
Competition in Paris, an annual moot mediation competition organized by the
International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Alternative Dispute Resolution
Secretariat; this one-of-a-kind,
invitation-only event included 58 teams from universities and mediation experts
from around the world
- Anjie Flowers and Kimberlee
Shelton for reaching the quarter-finals at the Frederick Douglass Moot
Court Competition, sponsored by the National Black Law Students Association
- Katie Lockwood and Kelly Rodgers
competing in the Texas Young Lawyer Association’s National Trial Competition in
Houston after winning the regional competition earlier in the year
- Mark
McKenna and Jeffrey Boucher
advancing to the quarterfinals at the Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court
Competition in Houston, Texas, and being recognized for presenting the “Best Petitioners
Brief in the Nation.”

LeBlanc and Ben Joslin winning
the ABA Regional Competition for Mediation Representation and advancing to the
national ABA Dispute Resolution Section Conference in Denver
- Rick Dold, Aaron Nyquist, Sean Pratt and Emily
Spott receiving an Honorable Mention for Best Memorandum on behalf of
Claimant at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in
Vienna, Austria
- Matthew Greenstein and, Ryan Meehan taking second place at the Minnesota
Intellectual Property Lawyers Association Cup
- Kendal Gregg, Ryan Pottebaum and Jay
Smigielsk receiving Third place for Best Brief in the Nation at the William
McGee National Civil Rights Moot Court Competition at the University of Minnesota
- Meghan Scully and Jesse
Winsel reaching the octo-finals and talking second place for Best Brief at
the National Health Law Moot Court Competition at Southern Illinois University School of Law
- Jennifer Middleton and Steven Helseth
advancing to the semifinal round of the Giles Sutherland Rich Memorial Moot
Court National Finals Competition in Washington, D.C.
