Sandeen attends two conferences

Hamline Law Professor Sharon Sandeen helped organize and recently attended the first annual Trade Secret Scholars Conference hosted by Elon University School of Law. Sandeen also attended the fall meeting of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association in her roles as the Chair of the IP Committee and Vice-Chair of the Publications Board.

The Trade Secret Scholars Conference featured scholars from seven United States law schools. The event supported the development of scholarship in an increasingly significant area of intellectual property law. Elon Law Professor David Levine, who coordinated the workshop with Sandeen and University of Florida Law Professor Elizabeth Rowe, said the exchange of scholarly works-in-progress was valuable because it helped participants to focus research agendas, broaden perspectives, and receive substantive feedback on draft articles. Based on the experience of the participants, the organizers said they hoped to schedule the workshop on a regular basis to support the continued development of trade secrets law scholarship.

The ABA's Business Law Section Fall Meeting provided participants with coverage of current topics in regulatory practice, including the latest in auditing, financing, securities, investments, SEC enforcement, governance, lobbying, the JOBS Act, and hedge funds.
