Hamline's Commitment to Diversity flows from our deep-felt belief that a well-trained lawyer must be fully aware and fully engaged with the community in which he or she practices. A diverse faculty and student body is essential to this education. Only through these shared experiences and points of view can a law student come to appreciate the diversity in our community and our world.
Since 1994, the Hamline University Board of Trustees has embraced diversity as an academic goal and a mandate to create an inclusive, supportive educational environment. The School of Law is committed to admitting a diverse class of academically talented students to advance our goal of fostering leadership, scholarship, and service in order to produce lawyers who are locally engaged and globally connected. We seek intellectually curious students with differing backgrounds and experiences to promote a law school environment in which students engage in a lively exchange of ideas.
As a school that prides itself on creating new opportunities, Hamline School of Law leads in this effort through our outreach. For each and every student, Hamline is a supportive, rigorous, and transforming place to become a lawyer.
