Call For Nominations

The Alumni Board of Hamline University School of Law seeks nominations for the following alumni awards:

1. Distinguished New Alumni - Qualifications include: a) must be a HUSL alumna/us; b) must have graduated a minimum of 5 years before being eligible to receive; c) notable achievements in the law or service to HUSL.

2. Outstanding Merit – Qualifications: HUSL alumna/us with significant and longstanding contribution to the law school in furthering its mission, and/or significant and lasting achievement in the law.

3. Community Service – qualifications: a) must be an alumna/us of HUSL; b) significant contribution to furthering pro bono legal services; or c) significant support of HUSL through one of the following: gifts of time, talent and/or treasure.

4. Law Firm Mark of Distinction – qualifications: a) law firm has made a significant financial investment in HUSL; b) exemplifies community support and involvement; and c) promotes the value of higher education; d) length of time serving HUSL also to be considered.

5. Achievement in the Legal Profession – qualifications: a) must be an alumnus/a of HUSL; b) outstanding contribution to the law; or c) overcome significant challenges (personal or otherwise).

Awards are to be presented based on the type and number of nominations; not all awards may be given every year. Nominations are reviewed by the Alumni Board’s Communications Committee.

If you would like to nominate an alumna/us for one of the awards, please fill out the form below, print a copy, and fax it to the attention of Anne Markus at: 651-523-2435. You are invited to submit nominations for the 2009-10 Distinguished Alumni awards no later than August 15, 2010. Please state how your nominee exemplifies Hamline’s commitment to ethical leadership and service in his or her work and/or personal life.

Nominees need not be practicing law in order to qualify for this award. You may nominate more than one individual.
