Army JAG Brown Bag Brief

Captain Samantha Wicktora will be on campus on February 9, 2010 to interview 1L and 3L students interested in Army JAG Corps* internships and commissions. This brown bag brief is held so students can see if they are interested in Army JAG and get ready for the entire application process. (All students are welcome at this brief.)

Students should bring their own lunch.

A litigator's daily work revolves around crafting persuasive briefs and arguments. In this workshop, Professor Allen Blair will discuss five concrete strategies for enhancing the persuasiveness of your arguments, both written and oral.

Information Session re: Web Advantage Freelance Writing Project

The current opportunity is with the FindLaw Web Advantage Writing Project. We have opportunities for law student writers to create legal articles. Pay is on a per-project basis and we are offering $90.00 per legal article.

Within the project, the freelancer would write articles on a wide variety of legal topics for consumers to read on our law firm customers' Web sites and on FindLaw.com. The freelancer will support this effort conducting legal research and writing articles based on assignment specifics.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Current law school enrollment (2L & 3L)
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Ability to write
• Familiarity with on-line legal research.
• Westlaw experience.
• PC skills including basic familiarity with applications such as Word and Outlook.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems in a logical manner.
