Law School Justice Society
The Justice Society is an organization of alumni and friends united in a common cause: Hamline University School of Law. Membership demonstrates the commitment of service and philanthropy by those who hold the mission and future of this law school dear.
The legal education provided by Hamline Law faculty and staff focuses on the concept of relevancy, which is the driving force behind all decisions at the School of Law. Each class, co-curricular program, legal clinic, event, or student organization is viewed against this criterion. How do we produce better lawyers and offer classes that prepare students to understand the world of business, government, and social responsibility? How do we make a difference within the legal community and the community at large? Justice Society members understand and support these concepts.
The purpose of the Justice Society is three-fold:
- To cultivate local, national, and international awareness of the rigorous and balanced legal education offered by Hamline Law;
- To continue a strong tradition of philanthropy as dependable support for the educational programs, capital needs and student scholarships so critical for ongoing excellence;
- To encourage benefactors to serve as law school ambassadors who actively promote the School of Law and its goals.
Justice Society Membership
Annual gifts of $1,000 and above establish membership in the Justice Society. Gifts for any restricted purpose or for unrestricted use by the law school administration are appreciated and counted for Justice Society Membership. Support at this level is the very foundation of Hamline Law, and there are many opportunities to give.
We encourage all alumni and friends to consider support for Hamline Law at the Justice Society level. As in the past, alumni and friends who donate $1,000 or more will continue to be recognized through Hamline’s university-wide President’s Circle. The School of Law also will continue to recognize cumulative giving.
