HEALTH CARE COMPLIANCE PROGRAM

THE COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATION ENABLES YOU TO BE UNIQUELY POSITIONED TO MAKE A POSITIVE IMPACT AS A PREPARED AND EFFECTIVE LEADER IN YOUR CHOSEN HEALTH CARE SETTING.

Be prepared: a Compliance Certification helps you gain the skills needed to guide a health care organization through the complex maze of government laws and regulations.

Be effective: a Compliance Certification helps you to effectively develop and deliver training; create and enforce a code of conduct; audit, monitor, and investigate; assess risk; and be a champion of an ethical corporate culture.

Be a leader: A Compliance Professional stands at the intersection of governing law and organizational management. Knowledge is essential to succeed in this growing field, but practical experience and developing your unique skills set is also a necessary aspect of being an effective Compliance Professional.

The Hamline University Health Care Compliance Certification Program teaches these critical skills. The program provides a thorough examination of governing laws and regulations, introduces students to industry leaders, and focuses on hands-on learning and interactive simulations through its in-depth and in-person curriculum.

CURRICULUM

Hamline's Compliance Program is geared toward students and professionals alike. The full 12-credit program is designed to be completed within one year by taking four core courses (10 credits) and one elective course (2-3 credits). The program will offer two core compliance courses in the fall semester and two in the spring semester. The courses will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Students must also choose two electives from either the regular curriculum or from J-term or summer courses. Alternatively, specific courses can be taken to introduce the concept of health care compliance and to broaden one's understanding of this area.

Compliance students at Hamline are paired with industry professionals, effectively linking Hamline's strong academic learning environment with the real world of health care compliance.
