A compliance officer has a profound impact on a health care organization's success and is needed to develop and deliver training; create and enforce a code of conduct; perform audits; investigate to ensure compliance with state and federal laws; and to foster an ethical culture.  Hamline's Health Care Compliance education is in-depth and relies on hands-on learning and interactive simulations.  It not only provides a thorough examination of governing law, but it also gives students the tools to effectively address the operational  realities of working as a compliance professional.

Curriculum Options

• Students who wish to become certified in health care compliance earn a minimum of 10 credits through the 4 core courses and complete the 2 additional elective credits through academic year, January term, and/or summer term course offerings.  Curriculum information can be found here.
• Students, who do not wish to become certified, but who want to broaden their understanding of health care compliance, can take specific courses within the compliance program.
• Students interested in obtaining a Masters of Arts in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in health care compliance can do so through our joint program with St. Catherine University.
