John Riemer has more than ten years of experience as a public defender for the Minnesota Public Defenders Office for the Second Judicial District in Saint Paul. Riemer previously clerked for the Honorable Gary J. Meyer in the Tenth Judicial District. He has been a member of the Hamline University School of Law adjunct faculty since 2005, teaching the weekend innocence clinic and student directors.
