General LL.M.

LL.M. candidates work with an advisor to design a program of study for the year. Each program provides a select group of qualified individuals the opportunity to pursue a general course of comparative study or to focus on special areas such as: Business Law, Public Law and Human Rights, International Law or Comparative Law, Intellectual Property Law, or Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Required Courses

American Legal System (includes legal research and a major paper) (3 credits)

In addition, a limited number of management courses are available through the Hamline University Graduate School, which can be applied to the LL.M. degree.

Students must complete a total of 24 credits, with a minimum grade point average of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale).

Letter grades are used in accordance with the University’s regular grading system. Hamline University

School of Law is ABA and AALS approved.The LL.M. is accredited through the Higher Learning Commission, North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
