HUSL Defeats Mitchell, Helps Raise Funds for SPPS

Hamline University School of Law is once again the proud owners of the Res Ipsa Cup!   On Saturday, March 14, Hamline Law Hockey defeated William Mitchell Law Hockey 8-4 at Drake Arena in St Paul.  William Mitchell had 17 skaters to Hamline's 10, and the game was closely contested much of the way.  But in the 3rd period, Hamline Law Hockey dug deep and pulled away, scoring four 3rd period goals!  From our 1L players to our veteran 3L members, Hamline Law Hockey played as a team and demonstrated the camaraderie, teamwork and leadership for which Hamline University School of Law students are known.   Most importantly, the event raised more than $700 for this year's charity, the St. Paul Public Schools Foundation.

The ultimate goals of the Res Ipsa Cup game are to support charitable organizations within the community, increase school spirit, pageantry and unity, and strengthen inter-school relationships between law students, former players and alumni, and the broader legal community.  The 2009 installment certainly achieved those goals.

Hamline's winning roster included captain Joe Van Thomme, 3L; Ben Head, 3L; Tazio Lombardo, 3L; Frank McQuillan Jr., 3L; Mike Plante, 3L; Alex Rogosheske, 2L; Matt Kovacich, 2L; Doug Curella, 2L; Evan Zach, 2L; Chad Carr, 1L; Ben Hanson, 1L; Matt Thompson, 1L.
