It’s Official: Don Lewis is the 10th Dean of Hamline's Law School

Many distinguished members of Minnesota's bench and bar, along with Hamline University President Linda Hanson, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs David Stern, and members of Hamline University School of Law's alumni, faculty and staff gathered on October 28 for the official installation of Donald M. Lewis. The program included remarks by The Honorable James M. Rosenbaum, The Honorable Pamela G. Alexander, and Keith J. Halleland, co-founder and shareholder of Halleland Lewis Nilan & Johnson. President Linda Hanson and Dean Donald Lewis also addressed the capacity crowd, which was followed by a reception in Klas Center.

Noted Judge Rosenbaum, "Don is leader that people want to follow. He thinks, sees and acts with unusual wisdom and knowledge. The (Hamline Dean Search) committee has performed its work well."   Judge Alexander called Dean Lewis, "dedicated, hard working, and a gentle person with a heart of gold." She also said he "gives back to community in so many different ways. . . and through his low-key way has had a significant impact on many people."

Keith Halleland told the University, "You have made a wonderful decision to hire Don as your Dean. . . He's a great mentor and teacher of the law and he's one of the best lawyers I have ever known."

Video recordings of all the speakers, including Hamline President Linda Hanson and Dean Don Lewis can be viewed or downloaded on the law school website.
