Jessica M. Pieklo has joined Hamline University School of Law as Assistant Director of the Health Law Institute. Pieklo received her Bachelors of Arts in English and History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1996, her Masters of Arts in English from Mills College in Oakland, California in 1999 and is a 2002 cum laude graduate of Hamline University School of Law.
After graduation she practiced commercial litigation at Bassford Remele and the Parsinen firm. As an attorney she was named a rising star consecutively from 2004-2009. Pieklo left private practice to focus on writing and teaching. As an adjunct faculty member she teaches business law, ethics, political science and writing courses and contributes legal affairs analysis to http://www.care2.com/.
Led by Director Lucinda Jesson, Hamline's Health Law Institute was established in 2006 and offers a comprehensive health law curriculum and a variety of professional development opportunities to students and the health law community. It was ranked among the top 20 health law institutes in the country by U.S. News in 2009.
