Successful Show Highlights Diverse Cultures


 The Hamline University School of Law Student Culture and Diversity Committee sponsored a successful Culture and Diversity Style Show: "Different Places; Beautiful Faces" on March 9. The event raised more than $1,300 for Project Homeless Connect in Minneapolis, which serves as a "one-stop-shop" where homeless citizens may receive housing information, employment referrals, medical checkups and other services.

Nearly one hundred attendees watched 30 Hamline students, including students from the law, grad and undergrad schools, representing some 20 countries as they modeled native attire of countries such as Holland, Vietnam, Columbia, and Ghana. Overall, the evening was an excellent excursion into numerous cultures as seen through the lens of fashion,  food, and even dance with two cultural dance pieces from Ghana and the Pacific Rim.
