Core health law classes at the Health Law Institute are taught by faculty members with national and international reputations. Students interested in health law should take the two Health Law survey courses listed below, in addition to Law and Bioethics (or a seminar with a bioethics component), and either a health related clinic, practicum or moot court competition. These four offerings are the core courses for any student wishing to specialize in health law. In addition, students should take a selection of other specialized health courses and a health related seminar. The other specialized courses are listed below.
Finally, any good health lawyer will need other non-health related course depending on his or her specialization. For example, a health lawyer representing a large insurance company likely needs to take a course on Corporations. Similarly, a student interested in Medical Malpractice should take Evidence.
