A few raindrops (and the occasional clap of thunder) did not dampen the spirits of alumni, faculty and staff who gathered on Tuesday, June 3 at the Prestwick Golf Course in Woodbury for the 12th Annual Law Alumni Golf Tournament. There was plenty of fun, camaraderie and, of course, a few winners. Thanks to our generous sponsors and participants, the tournament raised $12,500 toward the Alumni Association Golf Scholarship Fund.
A special

Alumni Golf Tournament Raises Record Funds for Student Scholarships
With the enthusiastic, hard work of our Alumni Association Board members, the 2007 Alumni Golf Tournament took place on June 5 at Prestwick Golf Club. We hosted 110 golfers and raised more than $26,000 in sponsorship money for the Law Alumni Scholarship Fund, significantly breaking all previous records. New this year were the opportunity to win a Mercedes Benz with a hole-in-one and the addition of the law firm of Harper & Peterson (and principals Bill Harper `77 and Paul Peterson `89) as our underwriting sponsor for the tournament.
Official team winners included: Bob Fenlon, Doug Grawe, Adam Maier and Jason Thiemann in first place. Christophen Stanton, Robert Black, Mark Kelly and Scott Klemp finished in second place; Glen Brantly, Don Harvey, Diba Sobhani and Sara Sobhani were first place co-ed team; and Laura Krishman, Deb Mackay and Anne Marie Solberg were the first place women’s team.
A special thank you goes out to Steve Kirsch `76 who served as master of the awards ceremony, and to Bill Harper `77 and Paul Peterson `89 for hosting a dessert and cocktail reception following the tournament dinner at the beautiful offices of Harper and Peterson, P.L.L.C., moments away from Prestwick Golf Club in Woodbury.
