"Lawyers are society's generalists. They are the keepers of the law, the visionaries, the counselors. New lawyers experience success and grow as attorneys when they apply the skills, tactics and information they learned in law school to resolve conflict."
Professor Weeks provides students with global perspectives on the practice of law. He teaches International Law, International Trade & Commercial Law, Comparative Law, Conflict of Laws, Contracts and seminars on the Law of the European Community and International Human Rights.
Prior to joining Hamline, Professor Weeks was a law clerk to a U.S. District Judge, an attorney with the State of California and was in private practice with a law firm in San Francisco. He spent a year as an Academic Visitor at the London School of Economics and did postgraduate study at the Parker School of Foreign and Comparative Law at Columbia University and at the Hague Academy of International Law in the Netherlands.
Professor Weeks is a member of the American Society of International Law, the International Law Association, and the International Law sections of the American Bar Association and the California Bar Association.
