The Office for Students & Multicultural Affairs is responsible for the student experience at Hamline Law outside of the classroom. Led by Assistant Dean for Students & Multicultural Affairs Andrew Crouse, the office serves as the primary liaison for students with administration and faculty. The office works in tandem with administrators at the law school and the university to ensure that Hamline Law students experience a supportive, inclusive, and successful legal education.
Assistant Dean Andrew Crouse advises and counsels students; serves as the administrative liaison for student organizations; leads the development of student activities and programming; administers the student competitions program; coordinates the awards of scholarships and fellowships; collaborates with Hamline University's dean of students; and provides administrative leadership for and support to law school initiatives to foster a diverse and inclusive learning community.
The staff of the Office for Students & Multicultural Affairs maintains an approachable, confidential office that exists to help students locate resources and to maximize the quality of student life. Specifically, the office provides services concerning:
Short-term personal and academic counseling
Examination accommodations (Exam Variance Form)
Returning student scholarship information
Leaves of absences -- medical or otherwise
Discrimination and harassment complaints
Hamline University and community resources
Student event planning
Emergency student loans

Hamline Law students are encouraged to actively participate in activities outside of classroom learning. A multitude of Hamline Law student organizations exist for students to pursue professional, social, and extracurricular interests while creating new opportunities for building relationships with other students.
