Facilities: School of Law and East Hall

A fitting home for Hamline's legal education, the School of Law building is an award-winning architectural landmark. The 75,000 square-foot building, designed by Hammel Green and Abrahamson, Inc. was selected as one of Minnesota’s 1981 Architectural Award Winners. The building is also included in the American Institute of Architects' Guide to the Twin Cities, where it earns praise as a "muscular piece of modernism..."

The building offers a complete range of amenities for law students, including classrooms, bookstore, law library, lounges, and all administrative offices (including admissions, registrar, and dean's office). The state-of-the-art Annette K. Levine Moot Court Room offers students the chance to study and practice law using the latest technology and court room equipment. Hamline Law's nationally ranked Centers of Excellence, the Dispute Resolution Institue and Health Law Institute, and law faculty offices are located in East Hall, which is attached to the School of Law.

East Hall also offers classrooms, study areas, and student administrative services, a “one-stop shop” for the cashier, registrar, financial aid, and student accounts services. The garden level is a popular place for students to study or have a snack between classes. The area's sunlit tables provide a quiet place to study or chat with friends, and vending choices and a microwave offer options for light meals or snack.
